Arkansas City students place at Fort Scott Community College Aggie Days

FORT SCOTT, KS--Fort Scott Community College's Aggie Days took place Friday, March, 28. More than 1,600 4-H and FFA members of all ages from Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma participated in the events.
The contests included speech, and judging categories consisted of poultry, crops, entomology, meats, livestock, farm management, nursery/ landscape floriculture, horticulture, land, and dairy products.
The FSCC Agriculture department had lots of help from students, faculty, staff and various area FFA advisers, along with other volunteers. "I thought this year's Aggie Days went really smooth thanks to everyone who volunteered," FSCC Ag instructor Mike Beene said.
In the Junior Speech Contest, Felicia McCormick placed 10th, and Ashley Blatchford finished in fifth. Ashley also earned eighth place in the Floriculture contest. The Ark City floriculture team placed fifth.
The Arkansas City FFA team received fifth place in the crops contest with no individuals breaking the top ten.
In the Nursery/Landscape contest, Jayme Parrett was fourth high individual. The Ark City team also finished the contest in fourth.
In the Poultry Judging event, David Todd placed third and the team ended in second.
The Fort Scott Community College Aggie Days Interscholastic Contests are sponsored by Fort Scott Community College and Key Industries, Fort Scott.
