Unacceptable Dress

       Jewelry associated with body piercing that the administration considers substantially disruptive to the learning environment, or a health risk, may be required to be removed.

á           Shorts, skirts, or dresses that are shorter than fingertip length

á           Pants and shorts must be worn fastened at the normal waistline.  Anything else is unacceptable

á           Shirts or dresses with straps less than 2Ó wide.  Shirts and sleeveless dresses must fit snugly under the arm

á           Hats in the building, except in the gym for athletic events after the regular school day.  This includes baseball and cowboy hats, hooded sweatshirts or jackets, bandanas, sweatbands, or other items worn on the head.  Teachers in vocational shops will be given discretion to decide if hats are acceptable during their classes.

á           Clothing or jewelry that contain slogans, graphics, pictures, symbols, graffiti, or words that demean race, religion, creed, sex, national origin, intellectual ability or handicapping condition

á           Clothing or jewelry that advertises alcohol, drugs, tobacco products, or contains slogans that are obscene, suggestive, or have double meanings

á           Sunglasses

á           Combs or other potentially dangerous items in the hair

á           Wallet chains or other heavy chains

á           Pajamas, house slippers
