Medication Š When possible, students should take medication at
home. If it is necessary that a
medication be taken during school hours, the following regulations will be
followed. Medication must be
brought to school in the original container with appropriate label intact. Medication should not be kept in a
studentÕs vehicle. This includes over-the-counter medication such as aspirin,
as well as prescriptions. If medication
is not properly labeled, it may not be taken.
A
written statement by parent requesting the medication be taken at school needs
to accompany all medication. All
medication, both over-the-counter and prescription, must be kept in the office.
The
school nurse or a designated person will supervise the taking of
medication. A record will be kept
by school personnel of all medication taken at school.
The
school nurse or any other school personnel cannot by state law dispense aspirin
or any other type of medication to students.
