Bucher is entering his 11th season as head coach of the Bulldogs and his 14th season overall, after serving as the Bulldogs freshman coach for three years. Under Coach Bucher the Bulldogs have compiled a record of 119-101, tied for the Ark Valley League Championship in 2000, won Regional Titles in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006 and won the school's first ever 5A State Championship in 2002. He was also Kansas Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 2002 and AVL Coach of the Year in 2003.
Besides baseball, Bucher is also the Assistant Coach for the Bulldog football team. Bucher is in his 14th year of teaching at Arkansas City High School in the Business Department. His family includes wife, Tasha, daughter, Halle (11), and sons, Owen (7) and Blake (4).
Assistant Coach- Jesse Mason
Coach Mason will begin his fourth year coaching this season at ACHS. He is a 2000 ACHS graduate and former Bulldog baseball player.
Coach Smith begins his second season coaching baseball at ACHS this spring. He is also a JV and Varsity Football and Middle School Basketball coach.
