It's always been so hard to choose a favorite book. After a while, I chose a book by the #1 New York Times Bestselling Author, Nicholas Sparks. He has written four great books, "The Notebook", "A Walk to Remember" and "True Believer". My favorite book of his, is "At First Sight".
"At First Sight" is about Jeremy Marsh moving from New York City, New York to a little town in North Carolina Called Boone Creek to live with his fiance, Lexi Darnell. He's not very excited to move down there and leave his big city life. When he got divorced from his first wife, he told himself that he was sure he would never leave New Your City, never give his heart away, and never become a parent. Yes, Jeremy and Lexi are getting married, but they are also going to have a baby. Everything is going fine until someone finds out some information. Someone starts sending Jeremy disturbing e-mails and they just keep coming and coming. It sets off the course of their marriage, because they never really fight and now they fight a lot. Also, it makes them question how well they know each other because they've only known each other for about a month or two and they already have a baby on the way, getting married, and living together. It also makes us question ourselves and how well we really know the ones we love! How do we handle everything that gets in the way between our friends and loved ones! How do we overcome our fears and learn to do not only what we want to do, but what other people want us to! If you want a good book to read, check out "At First Sight" by Nicholoas Sparks. |

I've read many books in my entire educational career, but after several years of reading books, none stand out to me anymore. I tried and tried to find a nice one that I could read and actually enjoy, but I never found anything that grabbed me and hooked me in. Until now, from the National Bestselling Author, Jeanne DuPrau (writer of the Ember series) comes "Car Trouble". You can guess by just looking at the cover it is going to be a crazy yet enjoyable ride. The protagonist, Duff Pringle, is very interested and very talented in computers and technology. He has just landed a job in San Jose, California as a programmer for new technology and games. In order to get there, Duff must drive all over the country in his not-so-new Ford Escort. Unfortunatley, it breaks down and Duff is left with nothing to do. Will Duff move on? Is Duff stuck in the middle of nowhere? Read and find out!

Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut is a gritty war novel that follows the experiences of solider Billy Pilgrim and his platoon. When Billy is captured by the Germans he is sent to a prisoner of war camp in Dresden, Germany. For a POW camp his time in Dresden is surprisingly good; he meets other soldiers who offer friendship and food and Pilgrim is allowed to tour the beautiful city of Dresden. All is well until one night when the Allied Forces decide to "light up the town". This one act leaves 130,00 people dead and Billy is forced by survivors to excavate corpses from the rubble. The novel just begins there, and it continues to follow Billy Pilgrims tumultuous life after WWII.

This book is great for anybody that is always ready for and adventure and will keep you on the edge of our seat until the end of the book. As I read the book I wasn’t completely sure I was going to like it n the beginning, but as I read more and more it turned out to be at thrill ride of suspense, adventure, but most of all pure DANGER for the main character and his friends.
