The Lexile Framework for Reading is a scientific approach to reading measurement that matches readers to text. The Lexile Framework measures both reader ability and text difficulty on the same scale, called the Lexile scale.

To become a better reader, READ MORE material within your
Lexile range. Books at this level will introduce you to new
vocabulary and writing styles that will help you grow in reading
comprehension.

To assist you in setting a goal for yourself, it may be helpful to
know that most reading in the workplace is 1100 Lexiles or
higher. Typical newspapers are written at approximately 1100 to
1300 Lexiles. The reading sections of college entrance exams
like the SAT and ACT range from approximately 1200 to 1400.
