School board to finance with Apple Education

At its regular meeting Monday night, the USD 470 Board of Education awarded Apple Education with a lease-purchase contract to proceed with the purchasing of computer and technology equipment. The amount of $258,938.88 will be financed at a 1.36% annual percentage rate.

At the February 11 board meeting, the board authorized a revised call for lease/purchase proposals to finance technology purchases. The general terms of the proposal included a 36-month term with early payment options and no penalties. Apple Education was recommended based upon the interest rate proposed.

Apple Education provided the lowest interest rate in comparison to Bank of the West in Winfield, Corner Bank, Union State Bank and Home National Bank.
