At its regular meeting Monday night, the Board of Education approved the accommodation of picture panels at Arkansas City High School. The panels would feature photos of graduating seniors from each class, some dating back as far as the early 1900s.
The Arkansas City Public Schools Enhancement or ACE committee spoke to the board several weeks ago regarding the project. At that time, district administration and the board expressed interest in the effort to restore and maintain the photos of ACHS graduates.
In continuing that interest, the district plans to support the ACE committee by providing the proper space, technology, equipment and supplies needed to complete the project.
ÒThe administration believes this is a project worth pursuing, Dr. Ron Ballard, Superintendent, said. ÒThis will be a great addition to the high school and will also prove valuable to our students, alumni and the community.Ó
