Friday, Oct. 14, elementary students in Arkansas City Public Schools will
be dismissed at 11:30 a.m., to accommodate a half-day of curricular academic
planning time for elementary teachers.
Students in grades 1-5 will be dismissed at 11:30. Kindergarten and
four-year-old preschool students will be dismissed at their normal
time, 11 a.m., but
busses will not run until 11:30. Parents may pick up their four-year-old
and kindergarten students who normally ride the bus at 11 if they do
not wish to wait for the 11:30 bus.
Afternoon kindergarten, PALS and four-year-old preschool students
will not have class on this day.
Lunch will still be served. Kindergarten and four-year-old preschool
students may eat lunch at school. Those who qualify for free meals
may eat lunch for free; those who qualify for reduced-priced meals
may eat lunch for $0.40. All other students must pay for lunch, which
is $1.85 for elementary students.
Oct. 14 is one of four early dismissal days for elementary academic
planning. The other days are:
- Friday, Dec. 16, 2005
- Friday, March 3, 2006
- Friday, May 19, 2006
Questions about the half-day or lunch may be directed to the Central
Office at 441-2000.
